Real-Estate Installment Payment App

A fintech mobile app for buying property on installment — making long-term real-estate commitments feel manageable month by month.

Duration

4 months

Role

Design Lead (Agency)

Tools

Figma, Principle, Jira

The Challenge

Real-estate on installment involves complex financial commitments spread over 10–20 years. The existing experience was paper-heavy, branch-dependent, and opaque — buyers rarely knew what they owed, when, or why.

The goal: a mobile app that made every payment predictable, every schedule transparent, and every transaction fast.

Product Walkthrough

01

Property Browse

Properties are listed with monthly installment front and centre — not just total price. Buyers see what they can actually afford per month before opening a property.

02

Installment Calculator

Down payment and tenure sliders update the monthly figure in real time. The summary card breaks down loan amount, total interest, and total payable — no ambiguity.

03

Payment Schedule

A full timeline of every installment — upcoming, due soon, and paid. The progress ring keeps the long-term commitment in view without being overwhelming.

04

Confirm Payment

The confirmation screen surfaces exactly what is being paid, for what period, and from which account. No surprises at the point of commitment.

05

Receipt

A clean receipt with a transaction reference and the next due date surfaced immediately. One less thing to remember — the app prompts before it becomes urgent.

Design Decisions

Lead with monthly cost, not total price — Property listings show the installment amount above the total price. Buyers think in monthly budgets, not lump sums.

Real-time calculator — A slider-based EMI calculator that updates live reduced back-and-forth with sales agents. Buyers could self-serve the "what if I put down more?" question.

Receipt-first design — In early testing, users felt anxious after making a payment — no confirmation, no trail. We prioritised a clear receipt screen with a transaction reference and the next due date immediately visible. Anxiety dropped significantly in follow-up sessions.
